Trikaal - Gastronomic Nirvana !

I watched Trikaal yesterday. It left me salivating. I have watched 5 of Shyam Benegals films. This in addition to Bharat Ek Khoj. And one thing that I can confidently vouch for is that Benegal is an absolute foodie. His films have these elaborate dining scenes that rouse your gastronomic senses. A Bharat Ek Khoj episode had a sequence where a group of afghan soldiers share a large degchi of gosht biryani. Call it Benegals attention to detail the smell of the ghee and cooked gosht wafts into your living room. Junoon had Shashi Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Sushma Seth and others silently having a traditional meal. What they are eating is not very clear but you want to have whatever it is. Ditto in Trikaal. The feast scenes(there are a couple of them) are shot with such masterly attention to detail that you want to take the next flight to Goa for some prawn balchao and kaju feni to down it with. Watch Trikaal.A stroke of genius .And Bon Apetit !
